Our United Prayer meeting follows the following pattern:
- Adoration and Praise (Psa 100:4)
- Confession (Jam 5:16)
- Supplication or Petition (Eph 6:18)
- Thanksgiving and Praise (Phi 4:6)
We ask people to pray as much or little as they like, but keep each prayer to within 1 to 3 sentences. (Mat 6:7) This allows and encourages others, who may be new to participate, not feeling they need to pray long.
During the Supplication period, if someone asks a personal request for themselves or someone they know, we ask to allow time for the Holy Spirit to impress at least one other person to pray in support before making another unrelated request. This would not be necessary in the case of a general prayer.
